A film i was actually looking forward to see because the two previous doomsday films directed by Roland Emmerich which was Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow were films i really enjoyed, so when this came out with one of my favorite actors John Cusack starring in this film i was quite excited. Including several other stars i like including Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson, Danny Glover and Chiwetel Ejiofor the positives just kept adding up before the film begun.
And then i sat to watch the film with great expectations and ..........
........ they were shattered within moments of this film which made me curse the moment i paid £5.10 to watch this film and thats even with the student discount. Before the constant destruction i will give this film, i do have to say the CGI was fantastic but it took about an hour until any was actually used. Now the slating beings to start of with the dialogue used was atrocious, even with a great cast it was terrible and with jokes at really inappropriate times as though the world has gone to hell, but hey we can make several jokes out of this just to make it all seem all is well, which I'm sure the un-intellectual audience would love because there idiots. The film was way to long and the fact that it just wouldn't end as another problem would occur and then another just made me want to wish everything went wrong and they all died but as its a hollywood film and a predictable and typical hollywood happy ending occurred as you would expect. I hope i never have to witness anymore of his films if they continue on this scale of his doomsday films, but what could he do which is bigger than the end of the world so maybe i don't have to worry about that!!
